We would like to provide an update on the planned progression of the cladding remediation works at the Tobacco Factory.
We have recently received initial sketches and drawings for the various structural improvements. Although these are not yet final, they enable us to begin preparations and place orders for the required materials. Once materials are ordered, we are planning to re-commence works on 1st December.
In advance of this, the following site activities will take place over the next couple of weeks:
Delivery of the telehandler ( 27/11)
Delivery of skips
Delivery of materials
Delivery and installation of the hoist (TBC)
Once works resume, we will begin in the courtyard on the corner of the building closest to the main entrance and progress towards Naples Street. The initial sequence of works will include all structural remedial works, installation of new external sheathing board and sealing membranes around windows and openings. This approach ensures the building remains both weather-tight and structurally secure throughout the process. Only once a whole elevation has been completed, will new cladding then be installed.
We anticipate completing approximately 50% of this elevation by the time the site closes for the Christmas break on 23rd December. In the new year, we plan to increase resources by bringing in additional teams to support progress.
I’m sure everyone will be glad to finally see progress happening on the project , so if you require any further information, please feel free to get in touch by either commenting below or emailing info@hrscladding.com.
As always, we thank you for your continued support and patience.
The HRS Cladding Team
