Project Overview
As the principal contractor appointed to deliver cladding remediation works at Kemley House in Hull, HRS is undertaking the removal and replacement of combustible external wall materials identified on the building’s southern and eastern façades. Following a detailed fire safety assessment, the existing cladding and insulation systems were found to be non-compliant with current Building Regulations. In partnership with Pure Block Management and Wainwrights, the project will upgrade the building envelope with fully non-combustible insulation and cladding systems.
All residential premises at Kemley House will remain occupied throughout the works, with HRS implementing robust protocols to minimise disruption to residents as much as possible. The new façade will not only meet modern fire safety standards but also provide a refreshed architectural finish, replacing the original cream panels with a contemporary look. HRS is proud to play a key role in improving the safety and resilience of this residential building and look forward to delivering a successful project.
News / Updates
On Friday 15th August, a new welfare cabin will be delivered to site.
This will be a larger unit and will be placed on the opposite side of the car park entrance to where the cabin currently is. It will be significantly larger and will be delivered with a large lorry that may block the car park entrance and possibly some of the road.
Whilst we will keep the disruption to a minimum, there will be times when this is unavoidable. The delivery is due in the morning but we will ensure it is after peak time so again minimise disturbance.
From 31st March 2025, we aim to begin scaffold.
Expected Disturbance
While we aim to keep disruption to a minimum, there will be intermittent noise during the works that are simply unavoidable. Please be assured that we will take all reasonable steps to reduce noise levels as much as possible and will schedule particularly noisy activities during standard working hours.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these essential works.
The works will officially commence on 24th March 2025. This will involve:
- Site Set-Up: Establishing welfare facilities and material storage within the car park area. As well as temporary power and water connections.
- Investigation Works: Accessing various areas around the building perimeter to inspect the façade and assist with design. This will involve operating a scissor lift on the footpath for access.
